The Northern California coast near where I live is a rich network of Pacific coastline, estuaries, rivers, wetlands, marshes and creeks.  It is often cold and foggy all year round.  It can, at once, feel wild and lonely and warm and enveloping.  The seasonal changes in color range from neon green to rust to golden yellow to brown in summertime.

These images were created using in and out of camera multiple exposures and layering as well as intentional camera movement.  In using these techniques, I feel I was able to make images from a deep emotional place rather than my "eye" or my mind. It feels appropriate because the California coast does, indeed, hold a very special place in my heart.
